Nairobi, Kenya, Mar 30 – Former Police Spokesperson Bruno Shioso is among twelve candidates shortlisted by the National Police Service Commission (NPSC) to the position of the Deputy Inspector General of the Kenya Police Service.
Currently, Shioso is serving as the Commandant National Police College Main Campus Kiganjo which he assumed on November last year.
Shioso served in the office of the spokesperson from August 2021 before taking over from the current Inspector General of police Japhet Koome
During his tenure as the Spokesperson, Shioso is credited with the implementation of the NPS Communication Strategy intended to advance the Mission and Vision of the Service.
He has also steered successful multi-agency and multi-sectoral programs including the multi-agency security operations and the campaigns on security preparedness for the 2022 General Election.
Shioso has served in different capacities in Kenya and abroad.
Before his appointment as the NPS Spokesperson, he had served with the UN as a Transnational Organized Crime Expert.
He has also held senior positions at the Directorate of Criminal Investigations including at the Banking Fraud Investigations Unit (BFIU) and as the Principal Assistant to the Director DCI, Francis Ndegwa Muhoro.
Shioso holds a Master of Science Degree in Criminology (Police Leadership and Management) from Leicester University UK.
