NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 24 – Two people have been killed in a road accident along the Mombasa – Nairobi Highway on Sunday.
According to the National Police Service (NPS), this is after a bus veered off the road when an oncoming trailer failed to maintain its lane.
Police indicated that 20 other people who sustained various injuries are being treated at the Samburu Sub County Hospital.
“Preliminary investigations indicate that driver of the trailer failed to maintain to his lane, forcing the bus to veer off the road,” said National Police Service on X.
Bodies of the two victims who lost their lives have been taken to the Kinango Sub-county Hospital mortuary where they have been preserved.
The National Police Service has urged road users to adhere to traffic regulations to avoid road accidents during this festive season.
“The National Police Service is appealing to motorists to adhere to traffic regulations this festive season to prevent road crashes,” NPS stated.
