Count me out, Arati tells Machogu who is trying to reconcile him with MP Osoro

KISII, Kenya, Jan 14 – Kisii Governor Simba Arati says he will not attend the mediation meeting initiated by Education Cabinet Secretary Ezekiel Machogu to reconcile him and South Mugirango Member of Parliament Sylvanus Osoro after the Nyakembene attack.

Speaking in Kisii Arati stated that he is not ready to have talks with MP Osoro and alleged that Machogu is supporting him.

He instead suggested that the law should take its course instead of the mediation process because this was a crime which left people with injuries.

“You can’t act as a player, a referee, lines man and a goalkeeper at the same time,”Arati told Machogu.

Machogu’s letter was copied to solicitor General Shadrack Mose , Kisii Dioceses Bishop-Joseph Mairura ,Pastor Leonard Aencha and Rev. Moses Anyega and outlined the various insecurity incidents witnessed across the region.

“It has been decided consultations be initiated among local leaders with a view of finding a lasting solution to this unacceptable situation threatening the name of our region,” said Machogu.

Kisii Senator Richard Onyonka in his letter to Governor Arati pleaded with parties involved to show patience and humility and give reconciliation a chance for development of the county.
