NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23 – Health Cabinet Secretary Susan Nakhumicha says the Ministry will disburse Sh3 billion to health facilities by the end of the year.
The CS addressed this during the launch of the Health Census Report following the rising concerns from the Rural Private Health Facilities Association(RUPHA) on the delayed payments of claims.
“Our attention as a ministry is drawn to the recent remarks by the Rural Private Health Facilities Association(RUPHA) concerning the delayed payments of claims. We appreciate the feedback from healthcare providers who are our key partners and understand their concerns,” she stated.
The disbursement of the funds to the facilities is scheduled to commence on Monday Next week.
“Collaborating with medical services PS Harry Kimtai, the CS assured healthcare facilities of the ministry’s commitment to disburse a total of 3 billion Kenyan Shillings to all facilities by the year-end. Payments are scheduled to commence next week, starting on Monday,” the Ministry of Health stated on Facebook.
The CS has asserted that the ministry will address this issue appropriately and ensure that medical services remain uninterrupted, especially during this festive season.
The cabinet secretary has further confirmed that payments totaling up to KSH2 Billion have been disbursed between July, August, September, and November up to the 15th of December.
