DP Gachagua meets with UDA ahead of grassroot elections

NAIROBI, Kenya, Oct 18 – Deputy president Rigathi Gachagua  held a consultative meeting with the national steering committee of United Democratic Alliance (UDA) on Wednesday to discuss the management of the party.

Gachagua stated that UDA is committed to building a powerful party which will be deeply rooted in democracy even as the party prepared to hold it’s grassroot elections in December.

“We are building a formidable party founded on democracy for development,” said Gachagua adding that the constant meetings with UDA party officials will render a  common understanding and approach on the implementation of various party activities and programmes.

Among those who attended the meeting at UDA party headquarters Nairobi, include the Party’s Chairperson Cecily Mbarire,Secretary General Cleophas Malala, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wa, Nandi Senator Samson Cherargei, and the  Party’s TreasurerJapheth Nyakundi.

Others were MPs James Gakuya (Embakasi North), Benjamin Gathiru (Embakasi Central), Kamande Mwafrika (Roysambu), John Kiarie (Dagoretti South), Mohammed Ali (Nyali), Marsabit Woman Representative Naomi Waqo, East African Legislative Assembly (EALA)Member Falhada Iman and former Kamukunji MP Simon Mbugua.
