NAIROBI, Kenya, Dec 23 – Worshippers at the Jesus Church Ministry (JCM) church in Ruiru were left in amazement after former president Uhuru Kenyatta, surprisingly gifted them Sh1 million through a phone call.
The former president who was put on speaker by Rev Ben Muthee Kiengei Watoriathat, said that he had been informed that the church was holding a Christmas party which he immediately pledged to support.
“Your pastor has called me and has informed, me that you had a Christmas event that was meant for the people who are not able to support themselves during this Christmas period,” the former president said.
The former president promised that he was not going to neglect his people and promised that he would send Sh1 million to the church.
“I told him that I cannot leave my people and assured him that I will give him whatever I have. I told him that I will give him one million so that you are able to buy flour,” he said.
The retired president wished them a merry Christmas and promised the congregants that he was going to join them soon in one of their service and worship together
