Kisii OCPD Simon Gababa found dead in his car following an illness

KISII, Kenya, Dec 19 – Kisii Central subcounty police commander Simon Gababa is dead.

His body was found in his car outside his home within Kisii municipality a day after he reportedly fell ill.

Gababa who had served at the Kisii Central Police Station for less than a year was said to have fallen ill while on an assignment on Friday.

A colleague said he had complained of pains on one of his leg on Friday evening and said he would seek treatment on Saturday morning.

The officer is believed to have died in the car while getting ready to drive himself to the hospital.

Jebel Munene, the Kisii Police Commander, said the officer called his driver and told him he was unable to drive to the hospital.

The driver found Gabana in his car and alerted the doctor who confirmed his death.

Gabana had initially sought medication after his arrival from Nairobi on Wednesday. He was treated and discharged on Thursday.

His body was taken to Kisii Teaching and Referral Hospital Mortuary.
