NAIROBI, Kenya, Nov 12 – A Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) employee died yesterday afternoon after falling at the Authority’s headquarters at Times Tower Nairobi.
KRA Deputy Commissioner, Marketing and Communication said the tax-collector’s medical team performed an emergency first aid on the employee before medical assistance arrived.
“Kenya Revenue Authority reports an incident concerning one of our staff who has been involved in a fall this afternoon (yesterday) while at Times Tower,” KRA said in a statement.
“The Authority’s medical team responded immediately and performed first aid while calling for medical assistance. The emergency medical team arrived immediately and took over the emergency care,” it added.
However, KRA said that the staffer succumbed to injuries while being attended by medical personnel.
“KRA remains committed to the health and safety of its staff and is saddened by this unfortunate occurrence,” it stated.
“The incident is under investigation by law enforcement agencies,” the tax-collector said, condoling with the bereaved family.
