A Titanic memorial ship sets out at a pier in New York City/XINHUANEW YORK, Apr 12 – At the port where the “unsinkable” Titanic was expected to arrive at 100 years ago, a memorial cruise was launched on Tuesday to observe the 100th anniversary of the Tragedy.
The ship, along with its 400 passengers, left from Manhattan Cruise Terminal on Tuesday afternoon.
The first stop of the journey operated by Azamara Club Cruises is Halifax, Canada, where more than 100 Titanic victims were buried.
The ship is expected to arrive at the Titanic wreck site on Saturday, which is the second stop of the journey.
And a memorial service will be held at Sunday to commemorate the 100th anniversary and to pay tribute to all the courageous passengers and crew on board that fateful night.
The eight-night voyage will return to New York next Wednesday.
